Trash Detectives: The Case of the Missing Lunch Trash
Something strange has been happening at lunchtime.
Wrappers disappear. Bags get used once and vanish. Forks show up for a few minutes… and then they’re gone forever.
Where does it all go?
This Earth Month, we’re putting kids on the case.
Welcome to Trash Detectives, a playful mission to investigate what really happens to lunch waste, and how small swaps can solve the mystery for good.
Grab your badge. Open your lunchbox. Let’s investigate.
1. Case #1: The Missing Bag
Every day, sandwich bags show up… and then disappear.
🕵️♂️ Detective insight: Most are used once and thrown away.
Case solution: Swap it for a reusable container that comes home every day. Our detectives recommend our ECOlunchbox Three-in-One Classic or Splash Box.
Try this: Pack your sandwich in our stainless containers and see what happens at the end of lunch. Hint: You won’t be throwing anything away!

2. Case #2: The Wrapper Mystery
Snack wrappers are one of the biggest lunchtime clues.
🕵️♀️ Detective insight: They pile up fast, but they’re easy to replace, they fill up our landfills quick.
Case solution: Use a reusable container like our ECOlunchbox ECOdipper or ECOlunchpod.
Try this: Put snacks straight into your lunchbox containers. No wrapper needed.
3. Case #3: The One-Time Fork
Plastic straws are on the scene… briefly.
🕵️ Detective insight: Used for minutes. Thrown away for good.
Case solution: Pack a real ECOlunchbox stainless steel bendable straw that comes back home, and comes in fun colors too!

4. Case #4: Case Closed
Now it’s time for your biggest mission yet.
🕵️♀️ Can you pack a lunch with no trash at all?
No wrappers. No bags. Nothing thrown away.
Just real food, packed with care, and brought home again. That’s your mission should you choose to accept it.
